Make Good Use of Gazebo Wedding Decorations

Wood gazebo overlooking a lakeThere are many reasons why people choose to use a gazebo for their wedding day.

Quite simply, a gazebo is a wonderful place to celebrate your special day. Elegant, classy, and easy to fix up, it creates a perfect area and a superb focal point for making your vows.

But now that you’ve decided on using a gazebo as part of your wedding celebrations, how do you go about decorating it? Here is a quick guide to gazebo wedding decorations, with a few ideas that will help you to make your special day even more memorable.

Think Large

Many people choose to use a gazebo as the focal point of the wedding ceremony, and if this is the case then it will really have to catch everyone’s attention. So if you want to go all out and create something really extravagant then the beauty of the gazebo is that it makes this perfectly feasible.

For example, why not use the gazebo as part of a wedding theme? People get married with all kinds of themes these days, and the only limit is what you can think of. Remember, it’s your day so you can choose whatever you want.

One idea could be to base your wedding on an ‘Out of Africa’ theme. This could involve decorating the gazebo with tribal jewelry and small wooden carvings of animals, as well as placing traditional masks and African material around the area. Or for an ‘Under the Sea’ theme you could use shells, seaweed, and sand all around the gazebo area to bring your idea to life. They may sound wacky, but if you want a different theme for your special day, then you will be free to use your gazebo to make it work.

However, for some decorating ideas you may not actually need to decorate the gazebo itself, but instead could choose to decorate around it. For example, think how stunning a long, red carpet leading up through the congregation and ending under the gazebo would look. It would allow you to feel like royalty on your wedding day, which is just what you should feel like.

Keep it Simple

Themes are a great way to utilize a gazebo on your wedding day, but there is no need to go to such effort if you don’t want to. You may want to keep your budget down, or maybe you just don’t want any attention being diverted off your wedding dress, but there are many ways to decorate your gazebo with very little effort, and with just a bit of work and imagination you will realize that your gazebo can look great with the minimum of fuss.

One of the easiest and most obvious ways to decorate a gazebo is by using flowers. A couple of simple bouquets go a long way, and these can be positioned anywhere that you want. Or you could pick a few single flowers and thread the stems through the gazebo frame to create a limitless array of possibilities.

Another easy way to brighten up your gazebo is to spray-paint it. There are a wide range of spray paints out there, including ones that have glitter effects, ones that create a metal effect such as gold or silver, and practically any color you can think of. If you want to create a fun effect, then you could even use paper streamers or decorative string to go completely wild, but remember that it is very easy to go over the top with these.

Alternatively, a few simple helium balloons floating from the top will be a nice touch, and these could be used by themselves or could form part of the larger theme.

Think First

However you decide to decorate your gazebo, whether with simple adornments or a more complex theme, it is worth considering how permanent you want the decorations to be. Ribbons and flowers can be removed with ease, but if you stick things onto the gazebo or paint it all over, the results may be there for a long time. This may be what you want, but if not then think about just what you are prepared to do to celebrate your big day.
